SUMMARY:Samagra Yoga Chikitsa - Yoga Therapy Training India 2026
DESCRIPTION:In ancient times\, yoga used to be taught one-on-one. Today\, group yoga classes are a more common phenomenon. However\, if we want to assist our students in the most efficient way in response to their specific needs\, we need individual yoga or in another words Comprehensive Yoga Healing Course. \nIn this four weeks course we build on a concept that each body and mind is unique. It is impermanent and can be moulded at any given time. It changes with time\, disease or while adjusting to external conditions. If we want to improve health in a holistic way\, we need to look closely at a few factors that the human existence is composed of: body\, breath and its associate prana\, different parts of the mind\, the concept of soul and eternal happiness – in another words the concept of Pancha Kosha – five sheaths existence. \nIt is the birth right of every human being to feel healthy and fulfilled. You don’t have to change your partner\, your house or the country of residence. You only need to change your attitude and restore the feeling of completion which is already within you but has been covered by layers of conscious or unconscious thoughts\, impressions and experiences. In this sense yoga therapy doesn’t mean learning but rather “unlearning”. \n \nThis course deals with topics such as comprehensive yoga therapy\, Panchakosha Tattwa (five sheaths existence)\, Adhi (distress)\, Vyadhi (disease)\, Svastha Vrittam (prevention according to Ayurveda)\, consultation\, Vijnanopadesa (yogic counselling)\, basics of anatomy and physiology\, rehabilitation and psychosomatic diseases. Besides the classical yoga techniques\, you will acquire many special techniques from yoga therapy such as cyclic relaxation or prana channalizing. Part of the course is also a detailed study and practice of the cleansing techniques – Shatkriya. \nToday\, where almost everyone suffers of one or more chronic diseases is the individual approach of outmost significance. After completing this course you can either treat people in the form of individual consultation sessions or you can implement the teachings into your yoga classes. This training in yoga therapy is a foundation for any other form of therapy.  \nIn this training you don’t learn to treat diseases but you work with your client individually in a unique way depending on many factors such as combination of diseases\, working environment\, family background etc.  \nThe teaching and schedule will be in a traditional Indian Gurukula system which may be different from what you have experienced until now. All participants should be physically and mentally fit when joining the course in order to be able to feel and experience the wisdom of the ancient science of yoga.  \nFurthermore\, we offer ongoing yoga therapy trainings such as Level 2 – Yoga Psychology and Yoga Therapy for Autoimmune Disorders and Level 3 – Yoga Therapy for Psychological Disorders. \nAll sessions are mandatory and the course shall not to be regarded as a personal vacation. If for any reason you won’t be able to attend a class\, you have to inform one of the staff members.  \nDuring these 4 weeks you should set your personal likes and dislikes aside. You shall practice and live the concept of Kriya Yoga – Tapas\, Ishwara Pranidhana\, Swadhyaya – as it was described by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. This is also the essence of yoga therapy as a successful treatment method. Therefore your full commitment to the course is required. Your quality as a student and aspiring yoga therapist should be: 1. tapas = will power\, 2. ishwara pranidhana = trust\, 3. swadhyaya = self-analysis.  \nAfter having passed both practical and written exams successfully and having proven your abilities to become yoga therapy instructor during the whole course of training\, you will be awarded a certificate bearing the title Yoga Therapy Instructor certified by both Arsha Yoga as well Indian Yoga Association. \n\nCURRICULUM (260 hrs) \nPractice (118 hrs): therapeutic effects in asana\, pranayama\, meditation\, mantra\, kriya \nTheory (48 hrs): 4 paths of yoga in yoga therapy\, pancha kosha tattwa (5 sheaths of human existence)\, adhi (distress)\, adhija vyadhi (psychosomatic disease) \nSpecific practices for Yoga therapy (48 hrs) \nSpecial techniques for yoga therapy (24 hrs): cyclic relaxation\, prana channalizing \nAnatomy and physiology according to functional anatomy by Paul Grilley (6 hrs) \nGuest lectures (8 hrs): Ayurveda and Naturopathy \nSelf-study (80 hrs) non-contact hrs: karma yoga\, revision \n\n\n\n\nDaily schedule \n\n\n\n\n5:30 AM \n\n\nwake-up \n\n\n\n\n6 AM to 6:45 AM \n\n\npranayama and meditation (self practice on Wednesday) \n\n\n\n\n7:15 AM  \n\n\ntea \n\n\n\n\n8:15 AM to 10 AM \n\n\nasana class (self practice on Friday) \n\n\n\n\n10:15 AM \n\n\nbrunch \n\n\n\n\n12:30 – 1:15 PM \n\n\nspecial techniques from the yoga therapy \n\n\n\n\n2 to 4 PM (Friday off) \n4 to 6 PM \n\n\ntheory  \npractice \n\n\n\n\n6:15 PM \n\n\ndinner \n\n\n\n\n7 PM \n\n\nsatsang (self practice on Tuesday) \n\n\n\n\n9:30 PM \n\n\nlights our  \n\n\n\n\nStaff teachers: \nAcharya Harilalji  and guests \ncourse co-ordinator: Marie Meera Karanath \nSTAFF teachers: \nAcharya Harilalji: \nwas born in 1970 and comes from a traditional family in Kerala\, South India. \nCURRICULUM (260 hrs) \nPractice (118 hrs): therapeutic effects in asana\, pranayama\, meditation\, mantra\, kriya \nTheory (48 hrs): 4 paths of yoga in yoga therapy\, pancha kosha tattwa (5 sheaths of human existence)\, adhi (distress)\, adhija vyadhi (psychosomatic disease) \nSpecific practices for Yoga therapy (48 hrs) \nSpecial techniques for yoga therapy (24 hrs): cyclic relaxation\, prana channalizing \nWoman Yoga Therapy (8hrs) \nAnatomy and physiology according to functional anatomy by Paul Grilley (6 hrs) \nGuest lectures (8 hrs): Ayurveda by dr. SUMMARY:Śakti Return - spiritual retreat for women
DESCRIPTION:January 16-22\, 2023 \nwith Madhavi and Meera \nat Arsha Yoga\, Kerala\, India \nReconnect with your feminine power \nWelcome home to yourself!\nAre you in search of your authentic feminine power?\nJoin us to experience Śakti Sādhana\, a spiritual practice for women to reconnect with their inborn feminine power.\nAn opportunity for empowerment\, self-love\, personal growth and female wisdom.\nA space for the sisterhood of women\, surrounded by Indian nature on the shore of the Arabian sea.\nA deep connection with the sacred feminine to awaken the Shakti\, the goddess that lives within you.\nIn this retreat\, we would like to gently guide other women back to the connection with their inborn feminine nature\, back to their power that each of us has inside. By reconnecting to our divine feminine nature\, we create a safe space where old wounds may heal\, where contradicting feelings and emotions may co-exist\, where old can be released and something new and magical created. \n \nWhat is Śakti Sādhana?\nIt’s a spiritual practice for women that consists of 5 main pillars:\nMantra\, to open and feel the heart.\nMudra\, to channelise prana\, our life force\, and connect to our soul.\nBhakti\, to connect to our spiritual heart\, who is HER\, our inner teacher.\nYoga Nidrā to identify the different cycles in a woman’s life under the guidance of the daśa mahāvidyā – the 10 tantric goddesses.\nSaṇgha to express ourself with an open heart and without judgement or competition in a welcoming community of other like-minded women.\nDuring the retreat you will honour your cycle and your feminine wisdom\, you will connect with the basic elements and with Mother Earth.\nWe will celebrate being a woman and being Shakti.\nWe will do rituals\, ceremonies and women’s circles.\nWe will go to the deepest cycle wisdom through Yoga Nidra.\nWe will do workshops and sing together.\nWe will practice Shakti Hatha yoga\, meditation\, and consciousness movement.\nWe will appreciate the local culture exploring the surroundings. \nRetreat Venue \nArsha Yoga Gurukulam (www.arshayoga.org)  \nis located in silent village surroundings of central Kerala\, just 50m from the Arabian sea\, where traditional knowledge of yoga\, Ayurveda and Vedanta is being impaired. \nThe Gurukulam provides accommodation in 2 different categories:  \n\n2 double rooms with shared bathroom (sleeps 4) or 3 deluxe safari tents (sleeps 6)\nsuite with double occupancy with attached bathroom\, balcony and kitchenette (sleeps 2) \n\n \nThe Ashram provides two simple vegetarian ayurvedic meals per day that suit the learning and practicing of yoga and two times chai and snacks. \n We take effort to provide homegrown organic vegetables and fruits from our garden. What we eat\, we serve also. We do not use any chemical detergents such as washing powder or cleaning detergent. Our main home makers are vinegar\, baking soda and soap nuts. Even though the soil is mostly sandy\, since some time\, our garden doesn’t need any extra fertiliser\, as we use the mixture of cow dung from our cow Parvati and compost waste. This is the way we honour our Mother Earth.  \nAbout Us \nIt is said that everything comes at the right time… and so it was with yoga. Madhavi discovered this ancient system of practice when she was 40 years old. In the first stage of my practice\, yoga helped me to maintain my emotional balance and my physical condition during a very unstable period in my life. It gave me a lot of strength and security. In the middle of 2016 I moved to the Netherlands. Finally\, a period of stability arrived and with it the opportunity to deepen my personal practice\, so I decided to train as a yoga teacher to work more on myself.Certainly yoga has allowed me to be in constant growth as I have managed to integrate many of its aspects into my daily life\, now living it with more fullness and vitality. But something was still missing: the feminine side so I went to find her and I found her in my inner self. Since then\, my yoga practice has been developing more focused on the essence of the feminine\, which has helped me empower my body and develop a creative expression as part of my transformative Shakti energy. Now at my 50´s I guide myself in each phase of my cycle\, flowing in harmony with the functioning of my female body and my hormonal changes. Now I practice a womb-friendly more aligned with my Shakti energy. My choice of a type of yoga is determined by the time of my cycle and not by a rigid and extremely disciplined practice. I’m currently in perimenopause\, so this attitude towards a womb-friendly yoga more for the feminine side has helped me a lot to flow with the new changes of this natural stage of a woman. This has allowed me to connect with my body\, honour it as it deserves so I’m the one who decides how my practice will be. \n \nBesides her translation and interpreting studies in Germany\, Marie Meera Karanath completed her two years yoga teachers` training course in 2006 and one year yoga therapy instructors’ course in 2008. After gaining experience for three years as a yoga teacher in Germany\,  she has continued her teaching practice at Arsha Yoga since 2009. SUMMARY:Mind and Meditation (in-person and online)
DESCRIPTION:with Harilalji (founder and chief yoga therapist at Arsha Yoga) in Malayalam\n\nat Arsha Yoga Gurukulam or online via ZOOM\n\n8 days course on Tuesdays and Fridays 6-7:30am: October 11\,14\, 18\,21\, 25\,28 and November 4\,8.\n\nThis 8 days course offers a comprised knowledge about the human mind and its connection with the material world\, our body and soul. It deals briefly with the knowledge spread over many Vedic scriptures of ancient India. As the Mind itself is an instrument of endless information and knowledge\, even the Encyclopaedia Britannica would have not been sufficient in describing it and its functions. But what we can cover in 8 days is an insight into the mysteries of the mind that Rishis (the wisemen) were able to see and describe. The knowledge of mind is present in all aspects of life – yoga\, ayurveda\, music\, dance\, rituals\, economics\, social life or politics – and all such disciplines deal with the concept of mind only. This course is an attempt to collect this dissipated knowledge about mind and put it into a structure which is understandable for the modern mind. The objective of this course is not to compare yoga and western psychology and point out the differences but rather to present yoga psychology as a complete functional psychological approach. Suitable for any levels with basic yoga experience.\nFor registration whattsapp: 9745481651\, 9656867708

SUMMARY:SAKTI RISING - Spiritual Retreat for Women
DESCRIPTION:Śiva and Śakti\nThe main cosmic principle is the principle of antipodes: light and shadow\, good and evil\, activity and lethargy\, yin and yang and also man and woman. One loses its existence in the absence of the other and one becomes complete in case of integration of both. Balancing of these opposites is yoga.\nModern times lead us to extremism: either this or that and nothing in between. When I want to build a career\, I forget my female role as a caregiver and protector of the family fireplace.\nOr: if I want to be a woman\, I can’t fully live my skills. However\, being a woman and especially feeling like a woman does not depend so much on external circumstances as on examining and mapping her inner feminine landscape and securing her inner needs\, and it is always primarily a matter of harmony and balance.\nWe spend 5 days together in a greater women’s circle of deep nurture and care without judgement and with an open welcoming heart. We take retreat from our daily activities and dive deep into our nourishing feminine nature. We give our loving attention mainly to the area of the heart and pelvis\, the center of intuition and the source of creativity. \nWhat to expect?\nDaily yoga practice including asanas\, pranayama\, meditation and chanting. Trip to the famous Sri Krishna temple in Guruvayur and morning boating in the serene atmosphere of the Kerala backwaters. Ayurvedic food and free time for reading\, swimming and relaxing walks on the beach. \nDaily schedule:\n6:30-7:30 prata smarami and pranayama\n7:30 tea and banana\n8:30-10 asana practice (hormone yoga\, yin yoga\, hatha)\n10-11 brunch\n11 seva\n11-3:30 free time\n3:30 tea\n4:30 yoga (yoga nidra\, woman circle)\n6pm dinner\n7:15 satsang (on some days)\n✷ The above timings might vary slightly. \nRetreat Venue\nArsha Yoga Gurukulam (www.arshayoga.org) is located in silent village surroundings of central Kerala\, where traditional knowledge of yoga\, Ayurveda and Vedanta is being impaired.\nThe Gurukulam provides accommodation in 3 different categories: \n1. Shared double accommodation with shared bathroom or safari tent\, \n2. Double occupancy with attached bathroom\, \n3. Suite with double occupancy with attached bathroom\, balcony and kitchenette. \nThe Ashram provides two simple vegetarian ayurvedic meals per day that suit the learning and practicing of yoga and two times chai and snacks.\nWe take effort to provide homegrown organic vegetables and fruits from our garden to the guests. What we eat\, we serve also. We do not use any chemical detergents such as washing powder or cleaning detergent. Our main home makers are vinegar\, baking soda and soap nuts. Even\nthough the soil is mostly sandy\, since some time\, our garden doesn’t need any extra fertiliser\, as we use the mixture of cow dung from our cow Parvati and compost waste. \nWe can proudly say\, that you cannot find such a green land anywhere along the beach stripe.\nIn respect of the local culture and in consideration of the ashram life please follow the ashram guidelines:\n• Alcohol\, drugs\, smoking and non-vegetarian diet (meat\, fish or eggs) are prohibited during the ashram stay.\n• Long pants and t-shirt covering the shoulders are required for the ashram stay. Tight fitting and\ntransparent clothing should be avoided.\n• For swimming\, women are requested to wear shorts down to their knees and a t-shirt covering the\nshoulders.\n• This is plastic FREE zone. If you bring any plastic bags or bottles with you\, please think of packing them with you when you leave.\n• Mosquito nets\, first aid kit\, boiled water are provided and eco-friendly washing soap can be purchased from the ashram.\n• Be punctual in schedule\, so that you can keep the rhythm of the ashram.\n• The gate will be locked everyday at 6 pm.\n• Observe silence before morning pranayama class\, after evening satsang and during food time. Kindly keep the lights out time which is 9:30pm.\n• Do not bring any drinks or food items from outside to the ashram as this disrupts the schedule and diet suitable for ashram life. If you have any dietary requirements due to health reasons\, we will do our best to accommodate your needs. \nAbout Us\nWe both come from the Czech Republic. Apart from our nationality we both share a deep passion for India and her culture – HER as we feel she is a real mother – Mother India. \nFor Petra\, yoga is a lifestyle and she can’t imagine her life without it anymore. What was just asanas for her at the beginning\, developed into a deep spiritual practice\, both on and off the yoga mat.\nPetra discovered yoga in 2004 in a yoga studio in Munich\, Germany. Her yoga path started with powerful jivamukti yoga\, vinyasa and hatha yoga and went to more calm yin and yoga nidra\, sound healing sessions\, meditation and to yoga therapy that she studied at Arsha Yoga and has been further studying yoga therapy in the tradition of Krishnamacharya ever since. . She is deeply connected to this place and loves to bring groups here. Petra connects these styles to harmonious sessions\, where love\, empathy and compassion have lots of space. Since 2017 Petra lives with her family in India where she tries to widen her yoga horizon by learning and teaching. \nBesides her translation and interpreting studies in Germany\, Marie Meera Karanath completed her two years yoga teachers` training course in 2006 and one year yoga therapy instructors’ course in 2008. After gaining experience for three years as a yoga teacher in Germany\, she has continued her teaching practice at Arsha Yoga since 2009.She is one of the teachers and the course coordinator of Arsha Yoga\, at the moment also a full time mother. SUMMARY:Kalari Yoga Retreat with Kuttu and Sudarsh
DESCRIPTION:Life doesn’t fit in our yogamats!! We need to extend our Yoga to the Life!! Kalariyogam is created to transform person into a level where his physical\, emotional and intellectual levels are strong and balanced \,so that he can live the very life in its intensity.\nAll his qualities will enhance not just on the yoga mat\, but on the life itself. It is a balanced combination of Hatha yoga\, ‘Kalarippayattu’ and ‘Tantra’ created by Kuttu by acquiring and seeking knowledge and suggestions from various spiritual gurus and yoga Āchāryas from India. \nHatha yoga is a yogam of stillness in pranic level\, Kalarippayattu is yogam of dynamic prana and Tantra has a perfect way to combine both these yogams and implement it in life. When these systems combined with proper understanding Kalariyogam turns into an absolute yoga system for present world. \nCourse details:\nA retreat to give a wider and clearer understanding about yoga system and to transform the practitioner to a certain level\, so that he experiences the pranic world. The retreat follows the traditional path of hatha yoga.\, using the tools from kalari and tantra to enhance the pace and to make use of it in the daily life of the practitioner. \nPractical sessions of kalariyoga Retreat are mainly designed to make the practitioner to move from ‘āsanas’ to the next level ‘prānayāma’. It is merely breathing excercises that are often being practiced in the name of prānayāma. To be able to do prānayāma one should feel the prāna in its’ totality. ‘Prānadhārana ‘( the ability to maintain total awareness on prāna) should be maintaned. This is our aim. Our lectures compose of the philosophy of Hatha yoga and other traditional yoga systems. Philosophy means the root map with clear explanation\, instruction and information of very path each practitioner is supposed to move on. Transformation is prior to the philosophy. It is direction of practice\, rather than mere intellectual information. \nDaily schedule\n6:15 herbal tea\n6:45- 7:15- meditation\n7:30- 9:30- Hatha yoga with pranadharanam\n10:00- brunch\n11:00- 12:30 – lecture class on hathayoga philosophy and kalari\, tantra spiritual philosophy\n12:45- 13:15- yoga nidra\, prana dhyana\, ayurveda lifestyle etc\n13:15 – tea and snacks\n13:30- 16:00- free time\n16:00- 18:00- Kalari Yoga practical class\n18:30- dinner\n19:30-20:30- satsang\, bhajans \, fire ceremony etc\n21:00 –  lights off \nTeachers: \nNithin (Kuttu)\nA spiritual practitioner in all aspects\nStarted learning yoga from the age of 10 from swami goraknath. Started staying in agastya sidha yoga ashram and started teaching yoga from the age of 16. Also been practicing Ayurveda during this period. \nwww.agastyashram.com \nFrom the age of 19 started traveling and teaching in different places inside and outside of India.\nLearned and practiced under many yoga and philosophy gurus)\nLearned rajayogam and tantra philosophy Learned kalarippayattu from paramu Ashan memorial kalari and also from different schools. At the age of 25 formed ‘kalari yoga’ a balanced combination of hathayoga\, kalarippayattu and thantra. And been teaching it in Moscow and India since that.\nNational champion of kalarippayattu in years 2018\, 2019. \nSudarsh\nSpiritual teacher with in-depth knowledge.\nSudarsh is a spiritual teacher with in-depth knowledge in different schools of Yoga\, Yoga Therapy\, Tantra shastra\, Mantra Yoga\, Vedanta \,Vedic chanting and Yogic diet. He was born and brought up in a traditional Brahmin family in Kerala\, South India. From childhood itself\, Sudarsh was inclined to spiritual practices and mastered tantric rituals such as pooja\, homa\, mantra shastra and vedic chanting.\nAfter finishing his graduation in English literature he decided to dedicate his life completely for learning and sharing the knowledge of Yoga and Tantra.\nFirst\, Sudarsh finished his four years of intense yoga and yoga therapy studies in a traditional Gurukula system under the guidance of Acharya Harilalji at Arsha Yoga Gurukulam www.arshayoga.org and continued his spiritual journey at Sivananda ashram (Madurai)\, the Divine Life Society (Rishikesh)\, Vippasana Meditation (Dehradun) Sivananda yoga Vidyapeethom (Kerala)\, and completed his training in Yin yoga. Sudarsh Learned and practises an effective system of yoga therapy  under the guidance of Yogacharya Chandran master who is the founder of Bodhanada yoga\, he is initiated into an auspicious system called “sreevidyasampradaya “\n(worship of mother goddess) from his Tantrik guru M.T Viswanathan considered to be the ultimate teaching in Tantra. \nReservation and payment:\nIntroductory price special!: 500€ for share accommodation (4 beds)\, 550€ for twin accommodation\nFor reservation and deposit payment details kindly contact Kuttu directly at nithinbabumb@gmail.com to pay the non-refundable deposit of 150€ through Transferwise www.transferwise.com. From our experience\, this is the safest\, fastest and cheapest way to transfer money to India. \nFor the balance payment\, please don´t rely on ATM withdrawals in India\, as ATMs are often out of order. Also international bank transfers are not secure. We have made such experience in the past. India\, in contrast to other countries\, has no IBAN. Money\, which are sent sometimes don’t reach their receiver.\nDue to all these reasons\,  please bring your balance payment in EUR/USD in cash right from your country! Thank you. \nVenue:\nArsha Yoga Gurukulam has been founded by Meera and Harilal Karanath whose aim is to make traditional Vedic knowledge and lifestyle accessible for a modern mind. Arsha Yoga Gurukulam is located in silent beach of central Kerala in Thrissur District\, where traditional knowledge of yoga\, Ayurveda and Vedanta is being impaired. \nThe Ashram provides two simple vegetarian Ayurvedic meals per day that suit the learning and practicing of yoga and two times chai and snacks. \nWe take effort to provide homegrown organic vegetables and fruits from our garden to the guests. What we eat\, we serve also. We do not use any chemical detergents such as washing powder or cleaning detergent. Our main home makers are vinegar\, baking soda and soap nuts. Even though the soil is mostly sandy\, since some time\, our garden doesn’t need any extra fertiliser\, as we use the mixture of cow dung from our Parvati and compost waste. We can proudly say\, that you cannot find such a green land anywhere along the beach stripe.\nArsha Yoga Gurukulam is a plastic free zone. Whatever plastic you bring\, please take back with you also. \nExperience authentic local living with an international family flair. \nIn respect of the local culture and in consideration of the ashram life please comply by the following ashram guidelines:\nAlcohol\, drugs\, smoking and non-vegetarian diet (meat\, fish or eggs) are prohibited during the ashram stay.\nLong pants and t-shirt covering the shoulders are required for the ashram stay. Tight fitting and transparent clothing should be  avoided.\nFor swimming\, women are requested to wear shorts down to their knees and a t-shirt covering the shoulders.\nIn respect of the local culture kindly restrain expressions of affection (like hugging or kissing) in public.\nThis is plastic FREE zone. If you bring any plastic bags or bottles with you\, please think of packing them with you when you leave\nMosquito nets\, first aid kit\, boiled water are provided and eco-friendly washing soap can be purchased from the ashram.\nBe punctual in schedule\, so that you can keep the rhythm of the ashram.\nThe gate will be locked everyday at 6 pm.\nObserve silence before morning pranayama class\, after evening satsang and during food time.  Kindly keep the lights out time which is 9:30pm. \nShoes\, and to a lesser degree\, feet\, have unclean associations. Shoes are not allowed in any of the ashram buildings\, especially in places of worship and dining. Shoes should be left neatly in the spaces provided. Avoid pointing your feet at the altar or teacher as this is considered disrespectful. \nIn India\, as the left hand is generally used for personal hygiene\, one should avoid using the left hand when interacting with others. In our Indian ashrams\, meals are served in the traditional manner by sitting on the floor and eating with the right hand. It is considered rude to offer anything or serve food etc. with the left hand. Eat\, give and receive (especially food and prasad) with your right hand.\nAll books are symbolically associated with Saraswasti – the goddess of learning and creativity. It is considered disrespectful to place the feet or sit on books.\nDo not bring any drinks or food items from outside to the ashram as this disrupts the schedule and diet suitable for ashram life. If you have any dietary requirements due to health reasons\, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.\nThe guidelines have been set up in order to maintain a pure atmosphere and make the ashram stay a true spiritual experience for its guests. \nFACILITIES: library and internet access are available outside of class timings.

SUMMARY:YTITC - Yoga Therapy Instructor Training Course (260 hrs)
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DATES: January 16 – February 13\, 2020\nIn ancient times\, yoga used to be taught one-on-one. Today\, group yoga classes are a more common phenomenon. However\, if we want to assist our students in the most efficient way in response to their specific needs\, we need individual yoga or in another word yoga therapy. In this four weeks course\, we build on a concept that each body and mind is unique. It is impermanent and can be molded at any given time. It changes with time\, disease or as an adjustment to external conditions.\n\nIf we want to improve health in a holistic way\, we need to look closely at a few factors that compose the human existence: body\, breath and it’s associate prana\, different parts of the mind\, the concept of soul and eternal happiness that we call in yoga Pancha Kosha – five sheaths existence. It is the birth right of every human being to feel healthy and fulfilled. You don’t have to change your partner\, your house or the country of residence. You only need to change your attitude and restore the feeling of completion which is already within you but has been covered by layer of conscious or unconscious thoughts\, impressions and experiences. In this sense yoga therapy doesn’t mean learning but rather “unlearning”.\n\nJoin us for the one month journey within! Only when you know yourself\, you will be able to direct others on a similar internal quest for sustainable happiness. This course deals with topics such as comprehensive yoga therapy\, Panchakosha Tattwa (five sheaths existence)\, Adhi (distress)\, Vyadhi (disease)\, Svastha Vrittam (prevention according to Ayurveda)\, consultation\, Vijnanopadesa (yogic counselling)\, basics of anatomy and physiology\, rehabilitation and psychosomatic diseases. Besides the classical yoga techniques\, you will acquire many special techniques from yoga therapy such as cyclic relaxation or prana channalizing. Part of the course is also a detailed study and practice of the cleansing techniques – Shatkriya.\n\n\nIn this training you don’t learn to treat diseases but you work with your client individually in a unique way depending on many factors such as combination of diseases\, working environment\, family background etc. \n\n\nDuring these 4 weeks you should be ready to set your personal likes and dislikes aside. You will be practicing and living the concept of Kriya Yoga – Tapas\, Ishwara Pranidhana\, Swadhyaya – as it was described by sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. \n\n\n\nToday\, where almost everyone suffers of one or more chronic diseases is the individual approach of outmost significance. After completing this course you can either treat people in the form of individual consultation sessions or you can implement the teachings into your yoga classes. After having passed the practical and written exam and having proven your abilities to become a yoga therapy instructor during the whole course of training\, you will be awarded a certificate bearing the title Yoga Therapy Instructor certified by both Arsha Yoga as well as Yoga Alliance International.\n\n\n\nFurthermore\, we offer ongoing yoga therapy training such as Level 2 – Yoga Psychology and Yoga Therapy for Autoimmune Disorders and Level 3 – Yoga Therapy for Psychological Disorders. \n\n\n\nCURRICULUM (260 hrs)\nPractice (118 hrs): therapeutic effects in asana\, pranayama\, meditation\, mantra\, kriya\nTheory (48 hrs): 4 paths of yoga in yoga therapy\, pancha kosha tattwa (5 sheaths of human existence)\, adhi (distress)\, adhija vyadhi (psychosomatic disease)\nSpecific practices for Yoga therapy (48 hrs)\nSpecial techniques for yoga therapy (24 hrs): cyclic relaxation\, prana channalizing\nHormone Yoga Therapy (8hrs)\nAnatomy and physiology according to functional anatomy by Paul Grilley (6 hrs)\nGuest lectures (8 hrs): Ayurveda by dr. SUMMARY:Yin Yoga Teacher Training Course - Module B
DESCRIPTION:“Yin Yoga\, Upper-Body-Anatomy\, Meridians & Chakra Meditation“- Module B \n4. – 11. January 2020with Shakti and Maheshwara \nThis Yin Yoga Teacher Training offers two modules and after each module students will be awarded a Arsha Yoga/Yoga Alliance 50 hour certificate. \nThe trainings are based on the anatomical principles of Paul and Suzee Grilley and each module is complete in itself\, providing you with the foundations of Yin Yoga and then specialize on a different theme\, deepening your understanding of this mindful asana-practice as well as yoga-philosophy in general. \nThe tissue in our body needs an appropriate exercise in order to stay healthy\, grow and heal. The law of our body is: use it or lose it. \nYin Yoga originated in the US and was founded by Paul Grilley. It is a soft and slow asana practice without any correct or exact form. While the connective tissue\, fascia and soft tissues of the joints are “trained“ in a specific way\, our muscles remain relaxed. The postures are held without any effort or strain. Yin Yoga has has a strengthening and regenerative effect on the tissues while the entire system enjoys deep states of relaxation. Physical restrictions disappear and energy flows. \nYin yoga positively influences the joints and myofascial structures mainly of the pelvis\, legs and spine. In this training we will specialise in the muscles of the upper body and skeletal variations of the shoulder girdle\, cervical spine\, humerus and ulnar\, which has an influence on all asanas involving the upper back\, arms and hands. We will then deeply explore the fascia as the “meridian-tissue“ and look at the Yin-Meridians of the body in theory and practice. \n  \nWhat you will learn in this training:\nIn this training we will analyse\, observe and practice all of the elements of Yin Yoga in depth. We will break down the theory and practice of Yin\, Chakras and Meridians\, Anatomy of yoga for Yin and Yang and Modern Meridian Theory as applied to Yin Yoga. The trainings are based on the philosophical and anatomical principles of Paul and Suzee Grilley. Students will be awarded a yoga alliance 50 hour certificate. \n\n\n\nIntroduction to Taoist Anatomical Analysis and Yin/Yang Yoga Sutras of Paul Grilley.\nInteractive hands-on study of anatomy.\nFinding skeletal landmarks and testing range of motion.\nUnderstanding and discriminating sensation: Tension vs Compression\, Muscle vs Fascia\, Physical vs Subtle Energy.\nExploring Yin Yoga Poses and the Variations of Functional Alignment.\nCommunication: When to listen/observe\, when to speak/lead.\nYin Yoga in theory and practice\, theory of exercise\, Yin & Yang-Theory\, the functional approach to yoga\nOverview: 14 skeletal segments\, 10 muscle groups\nIn depth study of the upper-body-musculature\nSkeletal variations: shoulder girdle\, cervical spine\, humerus\, ulnar\nThe 7 archetypal asanas and variations\nFunctional analysis of asanas like shoulderstand\, headstand\, wheel\, pigeon\, caturanga\, downward dog and implications for your Yin Yoga practice\n\n\n\n\nEnergy-theory & Chakra Meditation\nExploring the target areas for the Yin and Yang Meridians of the Body\nThe Effect of Yin Yoga on Meridians and how to apply this in your Yin Yoga Class\n\nAfter complete attendance at all parts of the course including the meditations sessions\, Karma Yoga and Satsangs and the successful completion of your exam (Writing a short paper on a given topic of yin yoga)\, you will receive a certificate “Yin Yoga Instructor (50 hours)“ or after attending both modules „Yin Yoga Teacher (100 hours) “ by Arsha Yoga Gurukulam. \nDaily schedule:6:30 to 7:20 AM Meditation (25 Min. sitting meditation on the roof\, 20 Min. walking meditation\n7:30h Tea\n08:00 – 9:00h Lecture/Workshop\n09:00 – 10:00h Yang to Yin Yoga Class\n10:15 Brunch\n10:45 – 11:30h Seva\n13:00h Tea\n13:30 – 15:00h Lecture/Workshop\n15:30 – 17:15h Yin Yoga Class\n18:15h Dinner\n19:30 – 20:30/21:00h Meditation\, chanting or Workshop \nStart of the course: Saturday 4. SUMMARY:Yin Yoga Training - Anatomical Foundations
DESCRIPTION:Dates: January 5 – 12\, 2019 \nThe tissue in our body needs an appropriate exercise in order to stay healthy\, grow and heal. The law of our body is: Use it or lose it.\nYin Yoga originated in the US and was founded by Paul Grilley. It is a soft and slow asana practice without any correct or exact form. While the connective tissue\, fascia and soft tissues of the joints are trained in a specific way\, our muscles remain relaxed. The postures are held without any effort or strain. Yin Yoga has a strengthening and regenerative effect on the tissues while the entire system enjoys deep states of relaxation. Physical restrictions disappear and energy flows.\nYin yoga positively influences the joints and myofascial structures mainly of the pelvis\, legs and spine. During the course of the training you will study these parts of the body in detail: muscles of the thigh and torso as well as the skeletal variations of the legs\, hips and spine. You will learn how asanas work in these different areas and how each individual will approach asana practice to avoid injuries or frustration and enjoy the deepest benefit of the pose.\nThis course will give you a whole new understanding about the importance of an individual approach to asana practice and infuse your teaching with new enthusiasm\, as you will be able to recognize the anatomical differences in your students and provide them with appropriate individual guidance. \nWhat you will learn in this training: \n• Yin Yoga in theory and practice\, theory of exercise\, Yin & Yang-theory\, the functional approach to yoga\n• Overview: 14 skeletal segments\, 10 muscle groups\n• In depth study of 9 muscle groups (thigh and torso mandala)\n• Skeletal variations: ankles\, tibia\, femur\, hips and spine\n• The 7 archetypal asanas and their variations\n• Functional analysis of asanas (spinal twists\, hip openers and sitting postures\, backbends and forward bends)\n• Target areas in Yin Yoga\n• How to teach Yin Yoga\n• Fascia and the regenerative effect of Yin Yoga\n• Sequencing a Yin Yoga class \nDaily schedule: \n6:30 to 7:20 AM Meditation (25 Min. sitting meditation on the roof\, 20 Min. walking meditation \n7:30h Tea \n08:00 – 9:00h Lecture/Workshop \n09:00 – 10:00h Yang to Yin Yoga Class \n10:15 Brunch \n10:45 – 11:30h Seva \n13:00h Tea \n13:30 – 15:00h Lecture/Workshop \n15:30 – 17:15h Yin Yoga Class \n18:15h Dinner \n19:30 – 20:30/21:00h Meditation\, chanting or story-time \nTeachers: \nMaheshwara Manfred Lehner\, yoga teacher (BYV) and yoga acharya (ISYVC)\, Yin Yoga Teacher Level 1 & 2 with Paul Grilley\, meditation course instructor (BYVG)\, long time experience in teaching teacher trainings since 2002 (YV Speyer\, ISYVC in the US & India\, SYVP India)\, post graduate biologist\, physical therapist; \nShakti Simone Lehner\, yoga teacher (BYV) and yoga acharya (ISYVC)\, Yin Yoga Teacher Level 2 with Paul Grilley\, meditation teacher (BYV)\, MBSR-Trainer\, long time experience in teaching teacher trainings since 2002 (YV Speyer\, ISYVC in the US & India\, SYVP India)\, post graduate biologist\, naturopath\, Ayurveda- & hormone yoga therapist. \nBoth did their yoga teacher trainings with Yoga Vidya in Germany (BYV) and the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers (ISYVC) in India in 1999 and 2001. SUMMARY:Yoga Therapy Training Level 2 - Yoga Psychology
DESCRIPTION:Dates:December 1 – 12\, 2018 \nThis 12 days course offers a good understanding about the human mind and its connection with the material world\, our body and soul. It deals with the knowledge spread over many Vedic scriptures of ancient India. As the Mind itself is an instrument of endless information and knowledge\, even the Encyclopaedia Britannica would have not been sufficient in describing it and its functions. But what we can cover in 5 days is an insight into the mysteries of the mind that Rishis (the wisemen) were able to see and describe. While the modern psychology starts its inquiry about the Mind from the aspect of the physical body\, the yoga psychology mentions the Soul first. The objective of this course is not to compare yoga and western psychology and point out the differences but rather to present yoga psychology as a complete functional psychological approach. Suitable for yoga teachers\, yoga therapists\, psychologists\, holistic therapists\, and healers. \n  \nCurriculum \nDaily practices \nThere will be daily asana\, pranayama\, meditation and karma yoga practices other than the lectures and course topics. \nMantra \nLearning to recite Vedic mantra and Bhagavad Gita. \nScriptures based in teaching \nThe knowledge of yoga psychology is spread into various scriptures. Some portion of the Bhagavad Gita and Yoga sutra will be taught with interpretation in the course. \nHoma and Puja \nHoma and puja will be performed by traditional Brahmin priests. \nDaily schedule: \n6:00 to 7h: pranayama and meditation (25 Min. sitting meditation\, 20 Min. walking meditation) \n7:15: Tea \n08 – 9:45h: yoga class \n10:15h: brunch \n10:45 – 11:30h seva \n13:00h tea and snacks \n14 – 16h lecture \n16 – 18h free time \n18:15h dinner \n19:30 – 21:00h meditation\, chanting or story-time \nOff Day \nThere is one day off in a week. Students are required to attend morning and evening satsangs and to complete their karma yoga duties. The rest of the day is free for their personal study and activities. A day trip may be organized on request at additional payment. \nAttendance \nAttendance at all activities is mandatory. Don’t let your likes and dislikes affect your commitent to the course. Slight changes in the program may occur. \nAssessment and Certification \nThe students are continuously assessed throughout the course at all levels. The final result will be based on internal assessment\, attendance and the final exam. \nPrerequisite \nYoga teachers\, yoga therapists\, students of Indian or western psychology\, students of Indian/Vedic culture or others with interest in Vedic psychology are eligible to attend this course. Some basic knowledge about Indian culture\, yoga or Vedic culture is an advantage\, but not mandatory\, for a better understanding of the subject. An open mind is necessary to follow this knowledge to the people who educated in modern system. \nPLEASE NOTE: The teaching and schedule will be in a traditional Indian Gurukula system which may be different from what you have learned until now. All participants should be physically and mentally fit when joining the course in order to be able to feel and experience the wisdom of the ancient science of yoga. \nFollowing the ashram rules as well as respect the local culture is mandatory. \n \nCourse donations are non-refundable\, however any unused amount may be transferred\, minus an administration fee of € 100\, to another course within one year of the original course starting date. \nArrival day: Friday\, 30 November 2018 \nStart of the course: 3pm on 1 December \nplease arrive latest by 5 pm on the 30th\, you are welcome to book your stay 1 day prior to the beginning of the course to enjoy the serene atmosphere\, get accustomed to the climate or to recover from your jet lag.
