SUMMARY:Śakti Return - spiritual retreat for women
DESCRIPTION:January 16-22\, 2023 \nwith Madhavi and Meera \nat Arsha Yoga\, Kerala\, India \nReconnect with your feminine power \nWelcome home to yourself!\nAre you in search of your authentic feminine power?\nJoin us to experience Śakti Sādhana\, a spiritual practice for women to reconnect with their inborn feminine power.\nAn opportunity for empowerment\, self-love\, personal growth and female wisdom.\nA space for the sisterhood of women\, surrounded by Indian nature on the shore of the Arabian sea.\nA deep connection with the sacred feminine to awaken the Shakti\, the goddess that lives within you.\nIn this retreat\, we would like to gently guide other women back to the connection with their inborn feminine nature\, back to their power that each of us has inside. By reconnecting to our divine feminine nature\, we create a safe space where old wounds may heal\, where contradicting feelings and emotions may co-exist\, where old can be released and something new and magical created. \n \nWhat is Śakti Sādhana?\nIt’s a spiritual practice for women that consists of 5 main pillars:\nMantra\, to open and feel the heart.\nMudra\, to channelise prana\, our life force\, and connect to our soul.\nBhakti\, to connect to our spiritual heart\, who is HER\, our inner teacher.\nYoga Nidrā to identify the different cycles in a woman’s life under the guidance of the daśa mahāvidyā – the 10 tantric goddesses.\nSaṇgha to express ourself with an open heart and without judgement or competition in a welcoming community of other like-minded women.\nDuring the retreat you will honour your cycle and your feminine wisdom\, you will connect with the basic elements and with Mother Earth.\nWe will celebrate being a woman and being Shakti.\nWe will do rituals\, ceremonies and women’s circles.\nWe will go to the deepest cycle wisdom through Yoga Nidra.\nWe will do workshops and sing together.\nWe will practice Shakti Hatha yoga\, meditation\, and consciousness movement.\nWe will appreciate the local culture exploring the surroundings. \nRetreat Venue \nArsha Yoga Gurukulam (www.arshayoga.org)  \nis located in silent village surroundings of central Kerala\, just 50m from the Arabian sea\, where traditional knowledge of yoga\, Ayurveda and Vedanta is being impaired. \nThe Gurukulam provides accommodation in 2 different categories:  \n\n2 double rooms with shared bathroom (sleeps 4) or 3 deluxe safari tents (sleeps 6)\nsuite with double occupancy with attached bathroom\, balcony and kitchenette (sleeps 2) \n\n \nThe Ashram provides two simple vegetarian ayurvedic meals per day that suit the learning and practicing of yoga and two times chai and snacks. \n We take effort to provide homegrown organic vegetables and fruits from our garden. What we eat\, we serve also. We do not use any chemical detergents such as washing powder or cleaning detergent. Our main home makers are vinegar\, baking soda and soap nuts. Even though the soil is mostly sandy\, since some time\, our garden doesn’t need any extra fertiliser\, as we use the mixture of cow dung from our cow Parvati and compost waste. This is the way we honour our Mother Earth.  \nAbout Us \nIt is said that everything comes at the right time… and so it was with yoga. Madhavi discovered this ancient system of practice when she was 40 years old. In the first stage of my practice\, yoga helped me to maintain my emotional balance and my physical condition during a very unstable period in my life. It gave me a lot of strength and security. In the middle of 2016 I moved to the Netherlands. Finally\, a period of stability arrived and with it the opportunity to deepen my personal practice\, so I decided to train as a yoga teacher to work more on myself.Certainly yoga has allowed me to be in constant growth as I have managed to integrate many of its aspects into my daily life\, now living it with more fullness and vitality. But something was still missing: the feminine side so I went to find her and I found her in my inner self. Since then\, my yoga practice has been developing more focused on the essence of the feminine\, which has helped me empower my body and develop a creative expression as part of my transformative Shakti energy. Now at my 50´s I guide myself in each phase of my cycle\, flowing in harmony with the functioning of my female body and my hormonal changes. Now I practice a womb-friendly more aligned with my Shakti energy. My choice of a type of yoga is determined by the time of my cycle and not by a rigid and extremely disciplined practice. I’m currently in perimenopause\, so this attitude towards a womb-friendly yoga more for the feminine side has helped me a lot to flow with the new changes of this natural stage of a woman. This has allowed me to connect with my body\, honour it as it deserves so I’m the one who decides how my practice will be. \n \nBesides her translation and interpreting studies in Germany\, Marie Meera Karanath completed her two years yoga teachers` training course in 2006 and one year yoga therapy instructors’ course in 2008. After gaining experience for three years as a yoga teacher in Germany\,  she has continued her teaching practice at Arsha Yoga since 2009. She is one of the teachers and the course coordinator of Arsha Yoga\, at the moment also a full time mother. Her main passion is yin yoga\, individual yoga therapy\, kirtan\, mantra chanting and woman’s work. “Living in a different country teaches you to set your ego aside\, to reassess your social and cultural background\, to come out of the cocoon and become a butterfly. This has to happen. My daugther\, Gayatri\, is the greatest teacher in this regard.” \nInvestment and registration \nFor registration please fill the google form: https://forms.gle/eAzh4x63u3FMookQ6  and pay the non-refundable deposit          100 eur via wise.com  to book your spot. SUMMARY:Yoga Therapy Training - Level 1 (India)
DESCRIPTION:In ancient times\, yoga used to be taught one-on-one. Today\, group yoga classes are a more common phenomenon. However\, if we want to assist our students in the most efficient way in response to their specific needs\, we need individual yoga or in another words yoga therapy. \nIn this four weeks course we build on a concept that each body and mind is unique. It is impermanent and can be moulded at any given time. It changes with time\, disease or while adjusting to external conditions. If we want to improve health in a holistic way\, we need to look closely at a few factors that the human existence is composed of: body\, breath and its associate prana\, different parts of the mind\, the concept of soul and eternal happiness – in another words the concept of Pancha Kosha – five sheaths existence. \nIt is the birth right of every human being to feel healthy and fulfilled. You don’t have to change your partner\, your house or the country of residence. You only need to change your attitude and restore the feeling of completion which is already within you but has been covered by layers of conscious or unconscious thoughts\, impressions and experiences. In this sense yoga therapy doesn’t mean learning but rather “unlearning”. \n \nThis course deals with topics such as comprehensive yoga therapy\, Panchakosha Tattwa (five sheaths existence)\, Adhi (distress)\, Vyadhi (disease)\, Svastha Vrittam (prevention according to Ayurveda)\, consultation\, Vijnanopadesa (yogic counselling)\, basics of anatomy and physiology\, rehabilitation and psychosomatic diseases. Besides the classical yoga techniques\, you will acquire many special techniques from yoga therapy such as cyclic relaxation or prana channalizing. Part of the course is also a detailed study and practice of the cleansing techniques – Shatkriya. \nToday\, where almost everyone suffers of one or more chronic diseases is the individual approach of outmost significance. After completing this course you can either treat people in the form of individual consultation sessions or you can implement the teachings into your yoga classes. This training in yoga therapy is a foundation for any other form of therapy.  \nIn this training you don’t learn to treat diseases but you work with your client individually in a unique way depending on many factors such as combination of diseases\, working environment\, family background etc.  \nThe teaching and schedule will be in a traditional Indian Gurukula system which may be different from what you have experienced until now. All participants should be physically and mentally fit when joining the course in order to be able to feel and experience the wisdom of the ancient science of yoga.  \nFurthermore\, we offer ongoing yoga therapy trainings such as Level 2 – Yoga Psychology and Yoga Therapy for Autoimmune Disorders and Level 3 – Yoga Therapy for Psychological Disorders. \nAll sessions are mandatory and the course shall not to be regarded as a personal vacation. If for any reason you won’t be able to attend a class\, you have to inform one of the staff members.  \nDuring these 4 weeks you should set your personal likes and dislikes aside. You shall practice and live the concept of Kriya Yoga – Tapas\, Ishwara Pranidhana\, Swadhyaya – as it was described by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. This is also the essence of yoga therapy as a successful treatment method. Therefore your full commitment to the course is required. Your quality as a student and aspiring yoga therapist should be: 1. tapas = will power\, 2. ishwara pranidhana = trust\, 3. swadhyaya = self-analysis.  \nAfter having passed both practical and written exams successfully and having proven your abilities to become yoga therapy instructor during the whole course of training\, you will be awarded a certificate bearing the title Yoga Therapy Instructor certified by both Arsha Yoga as well Indian Yoga Association. \nCURRICULUM (260 hrs) \nPractice (118 hrs): therapeutic effects in asana\, pranayama\, meditation\, mantra\, kriya \nTheory (48 hrs): 4 paths of yoga in yoga therapy\, pancha kosha tattwa (5 sheaths of human existence)\, adhi (distress)\, adhija vyadhi (psychosomatic disease) \nSpecific practices for Yoga therapy (48 hrs) \nSpecial techniques for yoga therapy (24 hrs): cyclic relaxation\, prana channalizing \nWoman Yoga Therapy (8hrs) \nAnatomy and physiology according to functional anatomy by Paul Grilley (6 hrs) \nGuest lectures (8 hrs): Ayurveda by dr.
